Undercover’s SS14 revolved around lyrics + ethos from a few post punk/rock bands including Jesus and the Mary Chain and The Savages. The opening manifesto for the runway featured a small lyrical passage from The Savages:
“The world used to be silent/Now it has too many voices/And the noises are constant distraction/They multiply, intensify.”
One of the key design elements for the women’s collection was word play. Garments sported words such as “Insult/Sunlit” “Listen/Silent” “Noise/Thoughts” and the collection’s title “God/Dog”. Some of the wordplay was rather political while others were mildly intriguing with the remaining few being fun anagrams. 100% cotton Tee with graphic, undercover title at bottom and collection title slightly below that.

"To The Archives No Longer Relevant" Raf Simons Shirt from FW15. This is the 20th season for Raf Simons and he initially sought to pay a tribute to his revered past collections but he and his team simply didn't feel that it was "relevant" to do anything old, instead opted to keep doing something new. This however was an homage to his influences Helmut Lang and Maison Margiela. Fits a little big, material is thin but not transparent as picture suggests (we're getting to fix the lighting issues), soft. High quality silk print on bank with "RS" signature logo patch sewn on back.

SS16 “Scab” Joy Division “This Is The Way Step Inside” Flannel
SS16 Half Sleeve Flannel by Undercover for their "Greatest" Collection which revisits old UC collections. This flannel is light, unlined, half sleeved with fringe/distress details on all hems. Two chest pockets, button up placket with gingham plaid. Shoulder/pit area is deconstructed and sewn back together with crude contrast stitching. Asymmetrical Bottom Hem. This, as with many UC pieces, is inspired by and borrow elements from music, mostly punk and post rock. "THIS IS THE WAY STEP INSIDE" are lyrics from Joy Division's 1980 Closer album; "Atrocity Exhibition"
